nevereverland

t'was good despite the bands that pulled out. shame, i did really want to see tame impala, temper trap and lost valentinos. the whitest boy alive were the shiznit, as expected. they'll definitely get big now that they've been exposed. oh, and by the way i shook erlend oye's hand and julian got him to write his name on my shirt. swoons. will be seeing them again tonight at the corner hotel.

the kooks were good. i've seen cut copy and presets in the recent past, so nothing new there - but nevertheless, still a good experience. ladyhawke - only caught the last couple of songs; she is fantastic. missed out on van she completely - but that's ok, i'm sure i'll see them sometime in the not to distant future. don't care about the djs.

i'm scared of bees too

"I was really not a big fan of anything with wings, but I'm sure that this is just because I'm afraid of them getting in my hair, or on me, or up my nose, or something like that. But one time there was a bee in my apartment and I–it was a one room apartment my bed just pulled out from the wall, and so it was the bedroom at night and I would just push it back in during the day and it was the living room. So I was sitting in my living room slash bedroom and this bee flew in the window and I panicked. I was all like, "Ahh!" and went running into the bathroom and then closed the door. I was all like, 'Ahhh', and then I was like 'Well f*ck, I'm in the bathroom, what am i going to do in here?' So I just was like, 'I have to go out and get the bee.' So I opened the door and I peeked out. And I could hear the bee it was f*cking big, it was probably the size of my fist. It was like "brrrr", and was just like bumping into shitt and i was like it's come into my apartment to die. It was like big, and full and slow, and it was going to die. So I closed the door, and I was all like 'f*ck, what am i going to do?' And the bathroom was–like there was four stairs up into the bathroom and then there was a bench, it was a rad bathroom–and so i basically came up with this plan because I was so afraid of the bee I was like it's gonna have to fly out the window so i basically opened up the door, ran and threw open another window, and then ran back into the bathroom. And I waited like three minutes, and then i opened the door and it was still out there and so I ran out and grabbed my guitar. And i wrote a song and waited for the bee to die. I know this sounds totally insane, but it was a really big bee. And I don't know if I'm allergic. I didn't want to die alone in my weird creepy bachelor apartment; and I'd just been dumped and I was like, 'I don't wanna die.' I don't wanna get a bee sting and everybody go, 'yeah, she died of a broken heart.' but really it was a bee sting." - tegan

call it off

I won't regret saying this, this thing that I'm saying
Is it better than keeping my mouth shut, that goes without saying

Call, break it off
Call, break my own heart
Maybe I would have been something you'd be good at
Maybe you would have been something I'd be good at

But now we'll never know
I won't be sad
But in case I'll go there
Everyday, to make myself feel bad
There's a chance I'll start to wonder if this was the thing to do

I won't be out long but I still think it better if
You take your time coming over here
I think that's for the best ...

erin wasson vs. bliss lau

"We went to Gen Art last night and did some serious damage to our already weak wallets. On our way out, we approached a rack of chain jewelry, wine in hand and announced, "Wow, this looks just like Erin Wasson's."

We were impressed, just like we were when we first saw Erin's pieces, until the girl standing next to the rack, Bliss Lau, looked like she might cry. Apparently, allegedly, her work looks like Erin Wasson's because the model bought one of her necklaces, re-cast it and threw the copies over Alexander Wang's Fall 08 collection on that dirty Chelsea runway. All would have been forgiven, maybe, until Wasson wore the original Bliss version in her Nylon write up.

We love Erin, and now we kind of love Bliss, and it's impossible to know exactly who's right or who's wrong, (though Bliss has been making her body chains since Fall 2007). So we sighed, bought the necklaces from Bliss because they're super pretty and got the hell out of there before we spent any more money or heard any more scary stories." - fashionista

And - Bliss Lau's pieces run from about $250-$450
while Erin Wasson's pieces will retail for around $1,200.
